"Growing up during the 70's, 80's and 90's I was heavily influenced by electronic music from America and other African American music genres along with sub cultures like Graffiti, Acid House and Hip Hop.
At the height of the late eighties, Acid House, Hip Hop and Indie music youth culture embodied the sixties scene that my generation had missed out on, we grew up digesting imagery from this iconic era, set against a backdrop of post industrial 80's Britain, it was what my generation had been waiting for - a chance to write our own chapter in creative youth culture.
New York has always been an inspirational place to me, everything from the Graffiti Movement to the original Gallery Scene of Basquiat, Haring and Warhol have influenced my work.
'Liberty' as a piece is an early, vibrant and raw attempt to show these influences"
